Summer 2009

I've finally got around to updating our blog. We had a great summer, here are some of the things we did!

Jared's parents gave us a ton of corn from their garden. Brycen helped me husk the corn. He refused to go to bed until it was all finished, and it was really late. I stayed up until 2:00 a.m. cutting, cooking and bagging the corn one night!

Jumping on the trampoline with water was a least a once a day occurrence. Thank goodness for the trampoline! It was great entertainment for hot summer days!

The boys spent many hours digging for "treasure" in the side yard this summer too.
Brycen lost his first four teeth this summer. The night before he turned 7 Jared pulled out a tooth for him, he didn't want to turn 7 and not have any lost teeth! The next day he ripped out the other front tooth. He no longer feels left out, all his friends lost teeth in kindergarten and first grade.

Multnomah falls

We went on a hike this summer to Multnomah falls. Jared lugged Allie in the backpack the entire uphill hike! It was a beautiful summer day.

Turning 30!

Yes! The inevitable happened, I turned 30! On July 9th. Thanks to everyone who called and emailed me on my birthday! A Birthday wish from an old friend is better than any gift, so thank you to all my sweet friends and family!

Even though I was dreading this birthday, it was a great day. My friend Emy, took me and the kids to lunch at Applebees and then she watched them so I could get a pedicure. When Jared got home from work we went to dinner at Quizznos, because that is my favorite! He surprised me with an ipod shuffle that he had engraved with these words, "30 and still stunning". I'm glad he still thinks so! We finished the day with a yummie fruit cake, anything with fresh fruit on it is my favorite, Jared knows me well! Although I sure feel old turning 30, I would never turn back the clock! The past 10 years have been great.

Brycen's 7th Birthday

Brycen turned 7 this summer, July 1st to be exact. We celebrated at J.J. jump with lots and lots of his friends.

Celebrating our 9th anniversary!

July 28th was our 9th anniversary! Jared's mom watched our kids for the weekend. We stayed in a motel right on the water front in Portland, it had an awesome view. We had dinner at the melting pot! Yum! And we visited a rhododendron garden. It was fun to be together without kids! I'ts amazing it's already been 9yrs.

July's Utah Trip

The kids and I flew to Utah in July. Flying alone with the kids is never fun, but always worth it. It was very hot when we were there. I had to take some pictures of the pretty flowers my mom planted this year. One day I will have my flowers looking like this!

I got to see my Aunt Ann for the first in about 10 years. She had never seen any of my kids, so it was fun to catch up.
I also got to spend the day with one of my very best friends, Kelli and her three boys. We were friends all through dental school and our boys became best buddies too!
Brycen and Jace picked up from where they left off, still best buddies. We miss them lots! We had a fun day together. We took the kids to McDonalds to play and eat lunch. Then we went back to my parents house and played in the backyard and had popsicles.



We also got to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Utah temple open house with my mom, my aunt Linda and Christine and my grandpa and grandma Rigby.

Portland Temple

Last Sunday we took a drive to the Portland temple and walked around and took some pictures. It was a fun Sunday activity and we got some cute pictures of the kids and family.
